About
Geoff, Catherine and family welcome you to the Blacksmiths Arms, which offers you roaring real fires, sandstone floors, wooden beams and a warm, hearty welcome.
Now in our 19th year, we are a family owned, family run, traditional, independent freehouse country pub. We like to think that service, value for money and a friendly welcome go hand in hand.
Since taking over the pub in 1994, the Blacksmiths Arms has been extensively renovated and modernised. It is the oldest pub in the village of Swainby, Established in 1775, only 10 minutes from both Northallerton & Stokesley, yet still retains all the charm and characteristics you would expect to find in a family run country pub. However, with the addition of the “Barn” restaurant in 2009, the facilities for customers are second to none.
We are proud of our coveted 5 star Foof Hygiene rating.
We actively campaigned to have the scheme locally adopted, we were the first Establishment in North Yorkshire to be awarded the 5 rating, back in December 2010.
The food at the Blacksmiths Arms is of the highest quality, with everything freshly prepared in the kitchens, which has been verified by trading standards.
It is home to our famous “Steak on a Stone”, where you can see your steak cooked to perfection before your very eyes on a hot stone. You are guaranteed a unique culinary experience at the Blacksmiths Arms.
