We offer you roaring real fires, sandstone floors, wooden beams
and a warm, hearty dog friendly welcome.

We are now in our 29th year at the Blacksmiths, we are a family owned, family run, traditional, independent freehouse country pub. We like to think that service, value for money and a dog friendly welcome go hand in hand.

We are not part of some faceless corporation - we are just a hard working family who wants to give you the best food and dining experience that we possibly can. We are not robots - we are only human and on rare occasion make mistakes, tell us and we'll put it right - thats our commitment to you - our valued customers, family and friends.

We are proud of our coveted 5 star Food Hygiene rating. We actively campaigned to have the scheme locally adopted, we were the first Establishment in North Yorkshire to be awarded the 5 rating, back in December 2010.

The food at the Blacksmiths Arms is of the highest quality, with everything freshly prepared in the kitchens. It is home to our famous “Steak on a Stone”, where you can see your steak cooked to perfection before your very eyes on a hot stone. You are guaranteed a unique culinary experience at the Blacksmiths Arms.

Since taking over the pub in 1994, the Blacksmiths Arms has been extensively renovated and modernised. It is the oldest pub in the village of Swainby, Established in 1775, only 10 minutes from both Northallerton & Stokesley, yet still retains all the charm and characteristics you would expect to find in a family run country pub. However, with the addition of the “Barn” restaurant in 2009, the facilities for customers are second to none.
